FY27 Capacity Addition Guidance Cut to ~8 GW From 9.5 GW Guided in Mar'26 Qtr on Transmission Delays
In Sep'26 Qtr, NTPC reported H1 FY27 group capacity additions of 2,398 MW, bringing total installed capacity to 91,506 MW. Against the initial FY27 group capacity addition target of 9,557 MW set in Mar'26 Qtr, management downgraded the guidance to close to 8 GW, driven by delays in transmission connectivity for renewable projects. Looking ahead, management expects NGEL's on-ground erected capacity to reach approximately 6.35 GW by the end of FY27, with additions heavily back-ended into Q3 and Q4 FY27 as transmission connectivity progressively opens up.
