GRSE Signs ₹32,000 Crore Contract With Indian Navy for Five Corvettes Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. signed a contract on 2nd Nov'26 with the Indian Navy to construct five Next Generation Corvettes, valued at approximately ₹32,000 crore, following its earlier L1 bidder selection. Each 4,950-tonne frontline warship will feature advanced CODAG-CC propulsion, reaching speeds of 26 knots with a 14-day endurance, and integrate advanced missile, radar, and sensor suites. GRSE Announces ₹2,670 Crore Capex for Major Shipbuilding Capacity Expansion Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) announced on 24 Aug '26 a capacity expansion involving a total capital expenditure of ₹2,670 crore. The capex will strengthen shipbuilding capabilities across three new facilities: Raichak, Shalimar (Timber Pond), and Khidderpore Docks (Damodar facility). The largest investment of ₹2,500 crore is for the Raichak facility, which will be developed into a shipbuilding hub for warships up to 200 metres and commercial vessels up to 60,000 DWT. The expansion aims to support future growth and enhance execution of larger, complex projects.
